Poephila bichenovii chicks

This is the latest Bicheno (owl finch) family, including second from left The Beastie (father),four chicks and far right a cock that was fathered but not reared entirely by him. The hen managed to sneak into the Bengalese dormitory (large nest box) laid three eggs and sneaked back out. So Bengalese being themselves happily reared this cock.The fledged chick was also fed by this owl father, he is a very dedicated parent and just couldn't resist it!
